Abstract

Communication ethics is an important aspect in school life. This study aimed to examine the improvement in students' understanding of communication ethics toward teachers. This pre-experimental study used One Pretest- Posttest Design with 33 eleventh grade students of SMA Sunan Giri Menganti as samples. The instruments were pre-test and post-test questionnaires. Data were analyzed using paired sample t-test. The average score of pre- test was 74.55 and post-test was 98.30 with a difference of 23.76 and significance value of 0.00. This indicates a significant improvement in understanding communication ethics after classical guidance services. Classical guidance services were effective in improving students' understanding of communication ethics. It is recommended to develop modules, training, and parental collaboration to further enhance understanding of communication ethics. The results can provide input for improvement of school guidance programs.
